Beach Baby

Last week we decided to do an impromptu picnic up at Stoney Creek Metro Park and Julien had a blast! After he got yogurt all over himself we just put him in the lake to wash himself off!

This past weekend we went up to the parents house and spent the day at Lake Michigan! It was a bit cold so luckily there was stream right there that we could swim in.

Summer Weekend

Last weekend was a whirlwind of 4 cities in 3 days. Let's just say mom was quite exhausted and happy to be home. The weekend was great fun though, especially for Julien. Here are a couple moments from the weekend.

Jeweled Rain

We have had a LOT of rain this summer. When it rains our canopy gets filled in area's with this rain. In the morning I have to go out and dump it out. The water gracefully slides down the sides of the canopy that are supposed to be keeping bugs out and in the process creates this amazing effect as the water droplets stick to the netting. The sun comes up at just the right place to bounce off the droplets and make you feel like you are surrounded by jewels while you are eating. Here are some pictures of this amazing effect.

Bath Time

I LOVE THE PICTURES!!! Bath time has become one of Julien's favorite times of the day and mine too because I can finally get all the food off him that he has been accumulating all day. He loves to play with his sailboat or eat wash cloths as you can see below.

Calder Dairy

We have begun getting our milk from Calder Dairy, it is great because it still comes in the glass jars. It is antibiotic free and the cows have a pretty good life. I visited their website and it looked like a fun field trip. I called up Kate because I know how much Xander likes cows and tractors and we planned a trip. Below are the great shots we got.
I love horses and this was the first thing we saw when we pulled into the farm!
Xander is showing Julien the cows.
Xander found his tractor, boy does he LOVE tractors! Future farm boy I think. ;-)
Lisa came with Kate and the boys and was fabulous with helping juggle 3 boys! We will miss her when she goes back to Germany! Xach pops his head out.
Kate and Xach are getting a ride from Xander on the tractor.
Julien is getting licked by the baby cows. We love the brown cows (mmm..maybe that is why I like Brown Cow yogurt).
The cows were more interested in us then we thought they would be, it might have something to do with Xanders squeaky shoes.
Xander is driving the milk truck.
Julien is along for a ride.

Zerberts and Farmers Markets

The day started at church where we had to sneak into the nursing room since we were so late...I don't know if it is because of Julien or us that we are late. The service was wonderful, kids recounting their ROPE stories. Then Ronan and his mom came in to the nursing room. Ronan is a week older then Julien and I have a feeling they will be good friends. The service ended with a rendition of the Mackarana....picture two babies dancing in marionette style!

We went to the Farmers Market in Warren after church. We got some great vege's, I had two woman stop me and compliment my wrap (Sproutpouch) that I hold Julien in and one invited me to the babywearing and natural parenting group that she organized. I will be checking that out soon.  Julien and I then went into the fountain and started dancing.....it was wonderful.

When we got home Julien was in rare form and decided that it would be fun to zerbert my tummy. It was hilarious, I wish we had got a video. Think of someone blowing bubbles on your tummy!

Here is a pic of the wrap in action, helping the cast of Annie plant trees!

Semi-Mobile

First of all we have a belated "Thank You Aunt Kathy" for the wonderful outfit and super cute picture frame. As you can see below the frame is in full use in Julien's room and the even though you can't see the outfit very well, Julien is sporting it in the below photos. He managed to scoot himself under his crib and realize he was not as comfortable as he wanted to be. He now pretty much scoots backward, turn in a circle or roll everywhere. He has begun to do a bit of a forward motion in what looks like an army crawl. I am predicting crawling in a month!
